• What types of data can be backed up

The Eurobackup service enables you to back up all types of files, e-mails, e-mail servers and databases.

• Do I have to buy equipment

The use of the Eurobackup service does not require the purchase of any hardware or software.
The Eurobackup agent is provided to you free of charge and can be deployed on as many workstations and servers as you wish.

The Eurobackup service is offered solely through our network of partners who will guide you through each stage of its usage.

• Why do we have to back up computer data

Because they are essential to the good operation of your company.
Because of their electronic nature, they can disappear in an instant. 
Their loss would prevent the continuity of your operations.

• What data must be backed up

Those that would have to be reconstituted if lost.
Those that would be impossible to reconstitute.
Those that would require a reconstitution time incompatible with the continuity of the company activities.
Those for which the reconstitution cost would be prohibitive.

The use of the Eurobackup service does not require any particular knowledge or skill.
It is presented in the form of an intuitive interface where each function is easily identifiable and configurable.

• Where are the data kept

The Eurobackup service backs up your data directly onto Raid 6 servers which are doubled up.
They are located in two Data Centers that each keep a copy of the daily backup of your data.

• In what way is this better than a backup on CD, DVD, cassette or hard disk 

In order to be effective, a backup must save all the data that have changed during the day.
Backing up these data does not just come down to copying them onto a medium.
It requires several operations to ensure that they are saved correctly.
These operations represent an extra workload for the company that does not do them with the required rigour and regularity.
The result is an uncertain backup that does not guarantee that you will be able to restore your data.
Fully automated, Eurobackup never depends on human intervention for your data to be backed up in all circumstances.

Technical questions

• At what frequency can computer data be backed up

The backup frequency is defined by you.
The backup can be done continuously as soon as a file is changed or according to a backup window whose execution interval is a minimum of one minute.

• Can several sets of backups be created

You can create as many sets of backups as you want.
They can be executed on one or more computers.
Each backup set can have its own configuration.

• Can several versions be kept

The Eurobackup service does not use media such as DVD’s or cassettes.
It backs up your data directly on the servers.
The number of versions is thus unlimited.
You can retrieve a file in the state it was in the day before, last week, last month, last year, etc. …

• How is confidentiality ensured 

The Eurobackup service encrypts your data at each stage of the backup and restore procedures. 
You can attach a different encryption key for each backup set.
You choose the parameters of this key yourself: 128 or 256 bits long - the algorithm AES, DESede or Twofish - CBC or EBC mode - the password.

• When can the data be restored 

The data backed up on the Eurobackup servers are available 24/24H.
You can restore them where and when you see fit.

• How can the data be restored 

You can restore all or part of your data using the software agent installed locally on your workstation.
You can also do it from anywhere in the world via our web interface.
If the volume of data is too large to be transferred over your Internet connection, we can send them to you on a hard disk.

You can restore all or part of your data at their original location or at any destination of your choice.

• Can certain files be excluded from the backup 

The Eurobackup service enables you to create filters that will automatically include or exclude certain categories of files.
This avoids you having to continually trawl through all your folders to verify that only the files that have to be backed up are selected.

• Can the data be saved on a local medium 

The Eurobackup service enables you to back up your data directly onto its own servers or to a local destination of your choice.
You can create sets of backups whose data are stored on our servers and locally, or which are done purely locally.

• Can the files be backed up as soon as they are changed 

The Eurobackup service can continually back up files, i.e. as son as they are created or changed.
This function is not operational for databases.
